What is Balanced Life?
The most important ingredients of a Balanced Life.
Have you ever observed a toddler or helped one learn to walk?
What is the first thing you must do or have done? Help the little baby to balance her/his body on their feet. The baby is scared of falling but s/he is determined to do so. First, they will take some help and with practice, they can balance on their own. The next thing that happens is the child take efforts to take the first step to move forward after achieving balance. Have you ever seen any child make backward moves once s/he has attended balance? No, right, maybe because once we achieve balance our basic nature is to move only and only forward.
Then you must agree with me when I say it is at most important to first bring balance in your life to move forward in your life. You may question me “What balance in life?” So answer me what does the 4 corners of any platform are balanced on above the ground or floor? The 4 pillars. Similarly, the foundation of yourself is based on the 4 most important areas of your life. These areas are:
1)Emotional health: it’s about being able to understand your emotions & feeling. It is important to understand how much to showcase of your certain emotions is appropriate. This is possible only when you are self-aware which will lead to self-control & self-management. These skills will help you manage situations and your life well.
2)Physical Health: it’s about your well-being. We all know many people in our respective circles, how their poor health has stopped them from doing more. A daily life example- the day you are low on energy you see yourself doing less of everything. Can you ever enjoy any feast with an upset stomach? Then how do you expect yourself to enjoy life with an upset & poor physical body?
3)Relationships: with your partner, family, friends, co-workers, and everyone around you. As everyone says and it does stand true — you make achieve everything in your life but what is the point if you have no one to share with. Lord Krishna has mentioned to Parth(Arjun) in the battlefield of Kurukshetra why people are remembered when they are in their respective bodies and when they leave that body, it’s because of their 3 characteristics -sattva (goodness, calmness), rajas (passion, activity, movement), and tamas (ignorance, inertia, laziness). The perfect balance of these 3 characteristics is responsible for your relationships. These help you manage your relationships and in return get the support of others to reach your life goals.
4)Finances: Money. Money. Money…..who doesn’t want money? The one thing that can give you real emotional pain is when you can’t provide basic needs to yourself and your people. You may not dream about a luxury life but capable enough to plan and have satisfactory monetary health throughout your life. Once your basic needs are met, you are free to think, plan and do more to get more. Managing your financials is a must skill for each one of us.
I can say so because I have personally worked to balance these areas in my life and continue to do so. In the beginning, I’d face challenges but now after attending balance I just manage them and focus more on my goals in life with a lot more support & help from others.
Therefore I urge you to find what is causing an imbalance in your life and stopping you to be who you “really” want to be and do what you “really” wish to. This awareness will help you do something about it, take action, keep the momentum be that & there.
